Lyman Hall DOI


Lyman Hall was born in Wallingford, Connecticut on 12 April 1724 and died 19 October 1790 at age 66. He graduated in 1747 from Yale College. Called to preach in 1749 but was dismissed in 1751 because of charges against his moral character. HE married Abigail Burr in 1752 but she died the following year. He remarried in 1757 to Mary Osborne, moved to South Caroline and set up a medical practice. From 1775 to 1782 he served in the Second Continental Congress ad a delegate from Georgia. He served as Governor of Georgia from 8 January 1783 to 9 January 1784.
