Thomas Lynch Jr. DOI


Thomas Lynch Jr. was born in Prince George Parish, Winyah South Carolina on 5 August 1749 and died in 1779. He was an Episcopalian. Thomas was schooled at the Indigo Society School in Georgetown. He went to Englad and studied law at Eaton College and at Gonville & Catius College, Cambridge. Je returned to America in 1772 after further llaw course at the Middle Temple in London, England. However instead of practicing law upon his return he opted for the Peach Tree Plantation on the Santee River in St James Parrish. On 13 May 1772 he married Elizabeth Shubrick, the couple had no children. In 1774 he was elected to the First Provincial Congress and re-elected in 1775.In 1776 He was selected as a delegate to the Second Continential Congress.
