William Paca DOI

William Paca was born in Abingdon, Harford County, Maryland on 31October 1740 and died 23 October 1799. He was an Episcopalian and on 26 May 1763 married Mary Chew, the coule had three children with only 1 survinging to adulthood. Mary died in 1774 and on 28 February 1777, Paca married Anne Harrison and they had one child and he died in 1781. In 1752 William was enrolled in the Philadelphia Academy and Charity Schooland continued his education at the College of Philadelphia, receiving a B.A. degree in May 1759 and a masters degree in 1762. He was admitted to the bar in 1764. Elected Judge of the United Stats Court for Maryland and served from 1788 to 1799. He was a delegate to the Continental Congress from 1774 to 1779. Elected Maryland State Senator and serve from 1777 to 1779. Elected Maryland 3rd Governor serving from 22 November 1782 to 26 November 1785.
