Protecting Children From God’s Word

All good parents want their children to have the very best in life,is only normal. This Includes what we Teach them about religion and philosophy. We as parents should be honest and truthful when teaching our children. This extends to religion. Many times parents with good intentions will use religious texts to teach them right from wrong, yet in all honesty these texts contain more bad and evil content then good and usually only instills fear into our children.

Because we were bought up to believe the “holy Books” of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are the word of God does not mean it is so. Honesty should far outweigh the superstitions of these texts. By using reason and applying it to these texts, we will see all fall far short of actual morality, and far short of any word of God. All three texts are exposed as Man Made texts which have been Alleged to be of a Divine origin. We need to teach them that these are really three books of ancient religious superstitions of long ago and out of ignorance to try and explain the things occurring around them.

Personally I was raised in a Christian household and therefore am more familiar with the Bible than with the Koran. Although the examples which follow may be applied to all three revealed religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

If Abraham were alive today and told how God instructed him to sacrifice his son to God, he would most likely be committed to a mental institution and his son placed in protective custody. Yet even today in the 21st century take this Bible story as fact. The Bible God gave this order to Abraham in Genesis 22:12 to see if Abraham really had enough faith in God to do it. Speaking of Abraham it is interesting to note that he really had some corrupt morals according today’s standards. He married his half-sister, and pimpled her out to the Pharaoh of Egypt because he feared for his life and seen it as a way to gain Pharaoh’s favor and riches. Do we really want to Teach our children this lesson? I think not.

Another teaching can be found in Deuteronomy 21:18 – 21 which states: “If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; will not hearken unto them; and they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. “Does this instill morality in children or Fear.

Another moral teaching can be found in 2 Kings 2: 23-24 which states:”And he went up from thence unto Beth-el; and as he was going up by the way, there came forth young lads out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head And he looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of Jehovah. And there came forth two she-bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two lads of them. “ Does this instill morality or fear?

Let us not leave out the little girl children . Read Leviticus 27:3-7 which states: “And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. And if it be a female, then thy And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. estimation shall be thirty shekels. And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. And if it be from sixty years old and upward; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.” Think of it as easy money when you are in a tight, just sell the kids!!

How are you to tell your children that God favors one group of people over another as in Deuteronomy:6 which states: “ For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God: Jehovah thy God hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth. “

How do you explain to your child that because they are a gentile they be made a slave to the Jew as Leviticus 25:44-46 says “ And as for thy bondmen, and thy bond maids, whom thou shalt have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall ye buy bondmen and bond maids Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession. And ye shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall ye take your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

Nothing will scare children more than zombies, and the Bible tells the tale of “The night of the living dead” Just read Mathew 27 52:53 which states: “ and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints that had fallen asleep were raised; and coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and appeared unto many. “ No dispositions was ever made of these zombies, do tey still walk among us? Explain this one to you children.

What kind of picture does the Bible paint in a child’s mind, I guarantee it is far different and more scary than that of an adult.
